A la carte blood test menu

After a brilliant Skype consultation with the clinic in Spain, (moments after relaxing in this incredible flower bath in Bali!) they have sent me through a homework assignment! Here’s the list of blood tests they want me to get before we start treatment:

Clotting studies (PT and APTT)

Complete Blood Count

AMH Hormone

Complete Serology:  HIV 1 and 2, hepatitis B antigen (HBsAg), VHC (hepatitis C) and syphilis (RPR)

Protein C functional and antigen

Resistance to activated protein C

Protein S free antigen

Protein S functional and antigen

V Leiden factor

Factor VIII

Prothrombin mutation G20210A

Antitrombin III

Lupus anticoagulant

Anticardiolipin IgG/IgM

BETA2 Glycoprotein IgG/IgM

Most of these I had done when I started treatment but things might have changed in the 2 years that have passed so they’ve asked for updated results. The clinic here in Singapore say they’ll do the tests for me, for $2,000! This used to be free back in Australia so the cost stings, but I want to get moving with Project Barcelona Baby so just need to suck it up.

The clinic also warned me they will be drawing a “large volume of blood”. I’m ok with the needles now after all the past cycles and monitoring tests, but think I’ll try and get the tests done on a quiet work morning so I’m not rushing in to a meeting right after the appointment.

Flying to London tomorrow night, got Monday in the office and then…Barbados ! So excited to be seeing my best friend again and having some fun in the sun 🏝🍹☀️
